Job Description

In this essential role, you’ll support the Senior Director of Academic Advancement and a dedicated team of professionals who are driving fundraising initiatives for strategic academic and institutional priorities under the For Good Initiative.

This role offers the opportunity to build strong relationships, contribute to the University’s most critical priorities through administrative and organizational responsibilities, and be part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to academic excellence.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Development:
  • Support the Senior Director in implementing leadership strategies that promote a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Provide operational, administrative, and organizational support, including calendar-scheduling, capturing team notes, organizing and synthesizing ideas to ensure the team thrives.
  • Coordinate events, continuous improvement processes, team-building activities, and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Develop and execute an annual program of events that align fundraisers with academic priorities.


Trusted Partner:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to Notre Dame’s Development Administration team, ensuring smooth and effective communication.
  • Implement best practices that drive collaboration and impactful results.


Collaborative Communicator:
  • Assist in identifying and communicating key philanthropic opportunities aligned with academic priorities.
  • Develop and manage resources that support fundraising efforts, including maintaining a comprehensive library of physical and digital materials.
  • Support innovative education initiatives for fundraisers, helping them connect with and understand academic priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in a relevant role.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite, with a willingness to learn new software and technologies.
  • A strong desire to contribute to the mission of the University of Notre Dame.

Preferred Qualifications

These qualifications may increase the likelihood of being a top candidate, but are not required for full consideration for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in an office environment, particularly in development or academic settings.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Advance, Adobe PDF, Business Objects, Concur, and CRM systems.
