Job Description

Full job description

Title: Post-Doctoral Fellow in Chemistry

Position Description: We are seeking a highly motivated synthetically trained scientist to investigate the use of molecular transducers to facilitate the synthesis of endergonic reactions cycles. The candidate will use state-of-the-art facilities to develop this concept. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in synthesis, photocatalysis, and energy transfer catalysis. As we are a chemical lab, the ideal candidate will also be interested in understanding the chemical mechanisms that drive these cycles and be open to learning associated skills and background. This project is part of a larger effort, so the candidate will also be responsible for interactions with other research team members, training junior members, and contributing to project meetings, administration, and dissemination of our findings. As such, a demonstrated commitment to collaboration, teamwork, and an open and supportive learning environment is critical.
The position is 100% research based and will not include teaching or service responsibilities aside from those associated with lab operations.

Qualifications: PhD in Organic Chemistry is preferred. Applicants with a PhD in a related field (photochemistry, organometallics, polymer synthesis) will be considered if their experimental experience is sufficient.
The ideal applicant will have the ability to design, execute, analyze, and troubleshoot experiments independently and to communicate transparently and effectively. The successful candidate will be able to maintain a detailed, up-to-date laboratory notebook, manage data, and present findings to a range of scientific audiences. They should have a desire to learn new techniques and to stay up to date with the current literature. They should have experience in managing collaborations, working in teams, and have a strong commitment to laboratory safety.
Special Instructions: Applicants must submit a cover letter, current CV, concise summary of past research accomplishments, copies of key publications and contact information for three references. Submit requested documents to https://apply.interfolio.com/152991.
Application Deadline: September 30, 2024
