Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Database Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

We are seeking a highly motivated person who independently develops and executes database scripts to maintain and account for functionality system changes. Develops and tests scripts to modify databases and works with client resources to apply the changes in Production. Collaborates with architects, developers and business analysts to build the solution. Maintains databases and ensures their integrity and currency. Tracks status of defects and addresses issues. Assists with systems documentation. Communicates with analysts, testers, and programmers about formal testing plans, problems, and results. Develops technical documentation and reports. Ensures all existing processes are fully documented, suggesting improvements, updating documentation, and communicating all process changes to relevant stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding and experience with Oracle and the cloud environment. He/she will work collaboratively with all entities involved in the project, developers, program leadership, business analysts, and the client.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

    Utilize technical skills to develop scripts to maintain and enhance application databases
    * Performs testing and validation of these scripts, ensure they are applied correctly in Production
    * Understand the use cases and business rules related to the system developed to communicate effectively with the client, stakeholders, and engineers.
    * Provide input to develop and maintain the project plan and schedule to meet all project objectives
    * Manage test assignments and results through JIRA
  • Reviews and validates requirements and technical specifications
  • Collaborates with the development team on bug fix verification and validation
  • Work within an Agile process through Sprint planning/close, and scrum meetings
    * Prepare material for customer meetings as required
    * Provide input for project decisions and risks
    * Provide support for production outages, and product deployments
    * Provide planning and execution estimates for new development activities

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD, 12 years with no degree
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Experience with Oracle in OCI and AWS
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
  • Great customer relationship building and people skills.
  • Strong software testing experience.
  • Working experience with Jira, SCRUM
  • Maintain Security + certification

Desired Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Active Public Trust Security Clearance
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven environment, handling and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Works under general direction, independently determines and develops approach to solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively across all levels of staff and management.
  • Experience in System Architecture & Design.
  • Familiarity with government environments and standards is desired.
  • Experience with Cloud and DevOps principles is a plus.

Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
