Job Summary

Assist with clerical tasks in the office and setting up events and meetings hosted by the Career & Transfer Center (CTC).

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a currently enrolled student and registered for classes
  • Must meet all Work Study eligibility requirements through the Financial Aid Office
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of general office equipment, including copier, fax machine, and multi-line telephone

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Data entry experience

Essential Functions

  • Help with the upkeep of job boards and the database of employers reaching out to the CTC office for hiring
  • Assist with event set-up for Career Success Conference, Career Fair, Transfer Fair, and other meetings or events hosted by the CTC
  • Help with outreach to students, MC Employees, and the community
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • The person in this position needs to move to other locations on campus occasionally
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
  • Use of manual dexterity
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
  • Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Duties indoors and some outdoors
  • Ability to work extended hours and attend Midland College or community events

Security Sensitivity

All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.
