Alvernia University’s ACBSP-accredited Header School of Business invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor of Finance beginning August 2025. The Header School of Business offers a major in Finance.

Required Qualifications: 

A Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field from an accredited institution or an ABD with expected graduation by May 2025 is required. Successful candidates will possess a commitment to excellence in teaching with a demonstrated ability to incorporate diverse pedagogical approaches in varied learning environments, have demonstrated commitment to service, and have a defined research agenda. With Alvernia’s new state-of-the-art Reading CollegeTowne facility, our technology-driven classrooms and business lab equipped with Bloomberg Terminal, and the O’Pake Institute for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, we support scholar-practitioners actively engaging in practice and action research.  

With our ACBSP accreditation, the candidate should possess academic credentials and business experience to ensure an appropriate blend of finance theory, practice, and scholarship to meet program goals and objectives. The candidate is expected to mentor and advise students, engage in curriculum development and program assessment, serve as faculty advisor for the Risk Management Association Club (RMA), and actively participate in departmental, college, and university activities that support the mission of Alvernia University. 

Teaching assignments may include traditional day, graduate, and adult education accelerated courses, off-site corporate education, and online/blended delivery formats. Commitment to high-impact practices such as service learning, experiential learning, action research, and innovative pedagogy is expected.
