Job Summary

Are you interested in working with technology and helping others, If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the part-time computer consultant/repair technician position at the Information Technology Services (ITS) department of the University of Michigan Dearborn.

 

As a computer consultant/repair technician, you will provide high-quality customer service and support to the campus community. You will be the first-level tier support for campus, handling various technical issues and documenting requests from end-users. You will also perform computer repairs and maintenance as needed. 

 

To succeed in this position, you need to have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.  Knowledge of computer hardware and software is desired, but not required as we provide technical training. 

Responsibilities*

ServiceDesk Technicians provide technical support for campus IT infrastructure to all university affiliates via various channels. Their responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Required Qualifications*

University of Michigan student with a customer service background and familiarity with Windows, Apple, and mobile devices. Skilled in device installation, organization, and communication. Flexible and adaptable to work in teams or independently.

Work Schedule

Work shifts are scheduled between 8am- 8pm Monday - Thursday, and 8am - 5pm Fridays. Shifts will be scheduled according to openings in your school schedule and will not change week-to-week.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Additional Information

May require working non-standard hours. Schedule subject to change. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required.
