General Summary of Position:
The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in mathematical analysis. A strong background in at least one of the following areas is desired: ergodic theory, dynamical systems, harmonic analysis, partial differential equations, mathematical physics.
The principal role of the position will be to assist in and contribute to current and future research projects by UML faculty in these areas, as well as work on independent research.
The term of appointment is for two years beginning September 1, 2025, contingent upon funding.
The postdoc will not be required to teach, but requested teaching appointments may be assigned for additional pay, subject to availability.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Education:
- An earned PhD in Mathematics by the time of the appointment
Experience:
- Proven research record in at least one of the following areas:
- Ergodic theory, dynamical systems, harmonic analysis, partial differential equations, mathematical physics.
Skills
- Ability to work as a team player
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
