The Role

QuidelOrtho is seeking a Supervisor, Distribution to take ownership of Warehouse operations and will be responsible for assigned areas. The Supervisor, Distribution will coordinate the work of team members to ensure distribution operations are completed efficiently. Some essential duties include allocating resources, assigning tasks, recruiting, and training staff, managing inventories, storing items, updating records, and monitoring team performance

The Responsibilities
  • Implements and enforces health and safety regulations; maintains warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion

  • Trains employees on all warehouse processes and procedures

  • Works with warehouse leaders to ensures employee compliance to protocols and standards

  • Reviews employee performance, provides feedback, and coaches for improvement.

  • Assists in the recruiting, hiring, promoting, and accountability processes as needed

  • Organizes and supervises warehouse staff in the daily execution of warehouse activities

  • Ensures products for delivery are routed to the appropriate locations and or products that are received are routed to the appropriate location in the distribution center

  • Supervises inbound/outbound deliveries and ensures timely and accurate entry of transactions in warehouse software systems to memorialize the movement of goods and inventory into and out of the distribution center

  • Ensures that warehouse inventory is clearly identified and readily accessible.

  • Owns document preparations practices for transfer to other departments/shipping

  • Measures and reports the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee's performance

  • Meets and exceeds quality expectations and standards required from the department

  • Identifies measures that can improve various warehouse processes while controlling for cost

  • Fosters a high degree of collaboration with other supervisors to support positive morale among warehouse staff

  • Ensures client satisfaction through efficient departmental activities

  • Addresses customer queries as needed

The Individual

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Understanding of GMP and FDA procedures

  • A minimum of 5 years shipping process experience

  • Basic math, reading and comprehension skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Effective leadership skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Good customer service skills

  • Proactive Exceptional problem-solving skills

  • Computer literacy

  • Eye for detail and accuracy

Preferred:

  • Previous leadership experience

  • Experience with ERP/WMS software

The Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of a warehouse environment and include handling of boxes and pallets. Pallet handling equipment is available, as well as pallet wrapping materials. Up to 75% of time standing and walking in a pick/pack/ship operation. Flexible work hours to meet project deadlines.

Physical Demands

Position requires ability to lift as much as 50 lbs. at least 35 % of the day on a regular basis. Walking, standing, and climbing for long periods of time (up to 50% of the day) are routine to accomplish tasks in this role. May operate a forklift approximately 10% of the time.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $67,000 - 114,000. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
