Decision Technologies seeks a qualified Model=Based Systems Engineer (Mid-level) to join our on-site team in San Diego, CA, or Arlington, VA. Some hybrid work arrangements may be possible.

Position Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to support the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific working on the digital transformation of the Naval Operational Architecture, model-based systems engineering of critical Naval cross-domain mission threads, and cybersecurity engineering of the next-generation Naval information systems and tactical networks. Decision Technologies seeks motivated individuals with broad skillsets and experiences who can demonstrate a history of achievement in engineering services for the Navy and/or larger DoD.

MUST HAVE A SECRET CLEARANCE

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Validate data and develop technical models that document architectures and related specifications and requirements for afloat, ashore, and aloft platforms, including interface agreements, and physical and logical SoS architectures
  • Provide functional knowledge and technical support for developing model-based architectures, including data structure support for Systems Modeling Language (SySML) and development of integration with the Cameo/MagicDraw family of modeling tools.
  • Monitor and track as-is architectures, including fielded and programmed architectures focused on programs, projects, and their interfaces, both external and internal.
  • Monitor and track already established SoS interface management control processes and products to document interface standards, controlling parameters, and interface agreements.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations research, or other sciences where the utilization of advanced math skills is required (e.g. business, mathematics, statistics, and probability)
  • 3 years of professional experience performing Model-Based Systems Engineering

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering principles
  • Knowledge of the Systems Modeling Language (SysML) or Unified Modeling Language (UML)
  • Experience with cross-platform collaborative MBSE/digital environments or equivalent (e.g., MagicDraw/Cameo Systems Modeler, Sparx System Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody, System Architect, etc.), which provide tools to design, track, visualize, and analyze all aspects of systems in standard-compliant models and diagrams.
  • Knowledge of the Department of Defense Architecture Framework/Unified Architecture Framework (DoDAF/UAF)
  • Familiarity and experience working with Navy radars, electro-optical and infrared sensors, guns, missiles, electronic warfare, and other warfare systems

Travel Requirements:

  • 25% to various Naval activity centers, including San Diego, CA; Washington, DC; Norfolk, VA; Charleston, SC; Denver, CO; and Hawaii.
