Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is in search of a Facilities Services Technician I with a versatile skill set encompassing carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems maintenance and repair. The role entails executing a range of skilled maintenance tasks to enhance, repair, and renovate College structures, facilities, electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and fixtures, as designated. The employee will handle College vehicles and equipment in a safe manner, adhering to safety protocols, and actively participate in fostering a secure work environment for themselves and colleagues. Our Tech I positions also have the ability to enroll in our APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM giving them added knowledge and skills for additional promotional and pay increase opportunities.
This posting is for two positions, located on our Cabarrus County campuses. Campus assignment will depend on many factors, which will be discussed prior to any commitment made by either party.

Required Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma / G.E.D. or equivalent
- Valid NC Driver’s license with good driving record
- 1 year experience of mechanical, carpentry , industrial, building maintenance, and equipment operator, general maintenance or other related experience
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
- 1-3 years experience in facility maintenance, or an equivalent combination of higher education and experience.
- Electrical experience a plus.
- VAC experience a plus.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: Basic methods, materials, and equipment required for the maintenance, alteration, repair and operation of building systems; ability to maintain records and to prepare requisitions and job orders; ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with college staff and faculty.
Ability to use a computer and essential software applications such as building management systems, email, work order software, preventive maintenance software, and some word processing is required. Basic proficiency in the use of a computer and essential software applications such as email and some word processing is required.
