We are looking for a colleague for the position of Research at the Seminar of Art History with a focus on the history of art, design and photography in the 20th century.
MAIN JOB CONTENT
Anticipated job responsibilities:
Participation in ensuring research, development and innovation activities, especially:
- independent investigation of complex scientific, research, development or artistic tasks in the field and publishing the results in peer-reviewed journals
- work in a research team, including cooperation with foreign researchers
- peer-review and review activity in the assessment of projects within the fiel
- participating in activities to secure research funding (searching for grants, writing and submitting grant applications or searching out the possibility of contractual cooperation, etc.)
- participation in the transfer of research, development, and innovation results into teaching in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programmes or in exceptional cases, as a supervisor in doctoral degree programmes.
- supervising Bachelor’s and Master’s theses
- participation in ensuring operational and administrative activities related to the academic position according to the instructions of the department head, e.g.: routine administrative tasks in the administration of own courses, use of e-learning and communication with students via the MU Information System; organising and participating in foreign internships for students and academic staff; participation in the promotion of the field
WE REQUEST
Requirements for candidates:
- Ph.D. – Doctoral Degree Programme in Art History (a condition)
- professional focus on the design, art and photography of 20th century
- experience in the field at least 5 years (an advantage)
- knowledge of English language at C1/C2 level
- excellent knowledge of the Czech language in both written and spoken form
- a high level of knowledge in at least one of the following languages: German, French, Italian
- ability to independently solve complex research tasks and contribute to the research projects of the department
- ability to apply project management principle
- ability to clearly articulate research results
- ability to present the results of own research
- ability to publish independently
- standard computer skills (MS Office, MS, Teams, Zoom, etc.)
- knowledge of the university environment (an advantage)
