Adjunct Industrial Technology Instructor (Apprenticeship)
Job Description
- DESCRIPTION
Antelope Valley College invites applications for our adjunct (Temporary, part-time) faculty applicant pool for the following Industrial Technology Instructor (Apprenticeship).
- REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
- Instruct students in the assigned discipline
- Assignment may include teaching courses during the day, evening, on-line courses and/or off-campus sites
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Applicant must meet one of the following requirements)
- Most current Minimum Qualifications for Faculty in California Community Colleges:
Any Bachelor’s degree or higher AND two years of professional experience, OR any associate degree AND six years of professional experience.
- Minimum Qualifications for service as an apprenticeship instructor teaching community college credit apprenticeship courses (Title V § 53413):
(1) possession of an associate degree, plus four years of occupational experience in the subject matter area to be taught; OR
(2) Six years of occupational experience in the subject matter to be taught, a journeyman's certificate in the subject matter area to be taught, and completion of at least twelve (12) semester units of apprenticeship or college level course work. The twelve (12) semester unit requirement may be satisfied concurrently during the first two years of employment as an apprenticeship instructor.
(3) Six years of occupational experience in the subject matter to be taught, and a minimum of ten years of experience as an apprenticeship instructor for the California Department of Industrial Relations Division of Apprenticeship Standards.

- Applicants may be subject to passing an examination (written/technical), as appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Residency within a reasonable geographical area of the college may be necessary.
