The Department of Animal Science at NC State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar position. This position, under the guidance of Dr. Xiaoqiu Wang, will investigate molecular mechanisms controlling age-associated uterine adaptability to pregnancy using genetically engineered mouse models, primary human samples, along with multi-omics data integration.
Responsibilities will include:
- Conduct experiments using advanced molecular, cellular, and mouse genetic research techniques
- Analyze data, write journal paper publications and present research at scientific conferences
- Contribute to the training of graduate/undergraduate students
- Contribute to grant applications and participate in career development workshops and activities
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Work schedule may vary to include weekends and/or evening hours.Department Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Reproductive Biology, Biomedical Science, or a related biology field.
- Experience in molecular and cell biology research.
- Demonstrated experience with gene knockout mouse models and cell culture.
- Established track record of success, including first-authored publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Ability to work collaboratively with excellent communication skills
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Proficiency in transgenic and knockout mouse breeding, handling, and genotyping, as well as cell culture, transfection, molecular cloning, qPCR, IHC/IF, WB, IP, and confocal microscopy
- Knowledge in epigenetics, genome biology, and bioinformatics
