Aviation Technician
Job Description
Description: NSI requires an Avionics Technician to support PMA 265 MAGNA-I Program Office. The Avionics technician candidate will troubleshoot and repair some of the following complex electronic systems, employing the latest test equipment and procedures: digital computers; fiber optics; infrared detection; radar systems; electricity generation systems; laser electronics; navigation systems; communications equipment; electrical power distribution; pressure indication systems; electric transformers and circuits; testing aircraft instruments and systems such as automatic flight controls, inertial navigation, and compass systems; installing changes, alterations, and modifications to aircraft electronics systems; performing micro-miniature module repair on computer circuit cards; using a variety of electrical measuring and diagnostic equipment; reading electrical system diagrams; repairing and maintaining power generators and electric motors.Location: Miramar, CA
Education: BS or BA degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
Experience: At least 10 years’ experience on F/A-18 A/C preferred. Ability to perform all functions in primary area of expertise but also required to “cross-pollinate” in other A/C functional areas to assist other team members as required. Provide and assimilate cross-training so all team members can assist in all functional areas. QAR/CDQAR Inspection of maintenance procedures that will affect safety of flight.
Preferred Experience: Aviation Electrician rating or the Aviation Electronics Technician rating / equivalent MOS.
Desired Skills/Certifications:
• Seat Crane operator
• Wire connector certified
• Avionic corrosion control certified
• Electric cart qualified
• Ordnance Handler TM/TL
Security Clearance: Secret Clearance is required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
