Salary range for Registered Nurses

Hourly range for Registered Nurses $40.18-$62.31/ hour
?    Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour
?    Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour
?    Day Shift Weekend Differential- $2.90 / hour
?    Evening Shift Weekend Differential- $5.90 / hour
?    Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour
?    Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour

Responsibilities*

5D Surgical Intensive Care Unit: The SICU is a 20 bed adult intensive care unit caring for patients who have had major operations or those experiencing complications requiring extensive physiological monitoring. Typically this encompasses those patients with peripheral vascular diseases, cancer, hepatic, pancreatic or renal failure, cardiac and pulmonary disease. Often these patients present with multi-system failure requiring swan ganz monitoring, ventilator support, parenteral nutrition and fluid and electrolyte corrections. In addition, SICU receives adult liver transplants and is a major referral center for adult ECMO/Respiratory failure patients. This ICU also may receive overflow from the Trauma, Neuro, Medicine and Cardiac Intensive Care Units. SICU charge nurses participate as adult Rapid Response Providers through out the University Hospital. SICU offers 12 hour night shifts, comprehensive orientation, career development and the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population. This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. LEVEL A nurses also eligible.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.

Required Qualifications*

Current Michigan RN license

One (1) year current ICU or ED RN experience.

Work Schedule

Hours: 36 hours per week (0.9 FTE)
Shifts: Nights, 12 hour nights
Location: University Hospital, 5D Surgical ICU 

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Union Affiliation

Once RN license is obtained, this position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening
