Job Description

DESCRIPTION

The Recreation Therapist will provide direct patient treatment in a variety of groups and individual activities on days, evenings, and weekends. The therapist will plan, implement, and revise the activities program. The therapist will assess patient's treatment needs, report and document outcomes, and redefine goals in collaboration with the Treatment Team. The Recreation Therapist is responsible for the activity program to include: budget, supplies, and CQI.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA in Recreation Therapy or related field.
  • BLS/CPR or BART at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in 6 months of hire date.
  • One (1) year recent experience as a Recreation Therapist in a large, complex healthcare system is preferred.
  • Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment, and accountability.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work variable hours including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $68,610 - $90,340 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.86 - $43.27

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
