The Laboratory of Cancer Immunology within the Department of Biological Sciences is seeking a dedicated and skilled Lab Manager to join our team. This role will support our pioneering research programs focused on understanding and developing new treatments for cancer. The successful candidate will engage in both research and administrative responsibilities, contributing directly to the lab’s scientific advancements and smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Research & Laboratory Work (50%)
- Participate in cancer immunology research projects involving a variety of techniques, including but not limited to PCR, gel electrophoresis, cell culture, immunology assays, animal models, and clinical sample testing.
- Collaborate closely with research staff and contribute to the generation of publishable data, with the potential to co-author scientific publications.
- Maintain accurate records and follow established laboratory protocols to ensure high-quality and reproducible results.
Administrative & Lab Management (50%)
- Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in coordinating and managing essential lab activities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory protocols.
- Order, track, and monitor research supplies and inventory to support ongoing experiments.
- Communicate with vendors to maintain efficient procurement and delivery processes.
- Organize team-building and other lab-related events to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, immunology, or a related field, with a strong foundation in laboratory research.
- Experience with basic laboratory techniques, including PCR, cell culture, or immunology assays. Experience with animal models is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail in both research and administrative tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Research experience in the areas of cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and animal models is not required but preferred.
