Job Description

Responsible for overall supervision and daily operations of La Jolla Sterile Processing and Central Services. Assists with hiring new employees, screens and interviews applicants. Prepares and conducts annual performance appraisals. Performs disciplinary action, up to dismissal, in consultation with department manager. Represents the department or organization in grievance hearing, administrative review process or arbitration when appropriate.
Trains personnel and assigns work to new and existing employees within the department. Makes recommendations concerning merit increases and classification reviews. Ensures department complies with relevant UCSD MC Policies and Procedures. Ensures department operates within budget guidelines. Ensures department complies with accreditation criteria including TJC and DHS.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Five (5) or more years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five years of related experience/training.
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration or related area, and / or equivalent combination of experience / training.
- Central Service Technician certification awarded by an NCCA accredited organization (e.g. IAHCSMM, CBSPD).
- Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL).
- Two to Four years of Supervisory/Management experience in a hospital setting.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $40.90 - $75.10
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
