Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist and execute NGS and biological assay protocols
- Assist on instrument installation and deck teaching
- Assist on performance qualifications for instruments and scripts
- Perform liquid class calibration verifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams in identifying product needs
- Communicate on actionable user feedback and assist in deploying updates
- Build novel scripts that would improve current operational limitations
- Catalogue and maintain inventory for automation purposes
- Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork
- Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures
- Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization
This role is intended to be a full-time internship opportunity, during Summer 2025.
Scheduling requirements:
- Ability to work Monday through Friday between 9AM to 5PM.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 75% of a typical working day.
- Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
- Ability to use a telephone through a headset.
- Ability to work seated for approximately 75% of a typical working day. Ability to work standing for approximately 75% of a typical working day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for approximately 25% of a typical working day.
- Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
- Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
- Ability to use various types of laboratory equipment; including microscopes, microtomes, blades, strainers, and pipettes for extended periods of time.
- May perform repetitious actions using lab tools.
- Ability to use near vision to view samples at close range.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials, tissue specimens, and instruments with moving parts, lasers, heating and freezing elements, and high-speed centrifugation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in life sciences or any engineering preferred.
- Preference giving to candidates with a record of outstanding academic achievement.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

$37,000.00 - $59,000.00The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - CA - San Diego on a full-time basis.
