Job Mission

The optical sensing engineering Intern shall assist with the development of next-generation optical and metrology sub-systems for the creation and control of EUV radiation and supports the design & integration of innovative core technology elements and/or system concepts into engineering solutions.

Role and responsibilities

  • Develop, test, qualify, and implement a metrology subsystem concept in a lab environment

  • Develops new optical sensing solution concepts to issues that impact design/manufacturing successes or to address future products or technologies

  • Quantify metrology characteristics of existing modules via data collection analysis

Education and Experience

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Optics, Engineering, or Physics

  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs

  • Familiarity with 1 of the following: imaging systems, laser systems, image/signal processing

  • Possess strong ownership characteristics and commitment to achieving results on time

  • Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong problem solving sills and the ability to take initiative

  • Be willing to be "wrong" at times and be open to the ideas of others

Other Information

  • This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
