- Manages and resolves employee relations issues ranging from informal to complex.
- Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations often in conjunction with HR leadership and legal counsel.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees and working knowledge of CBA compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed.
- Ensures that policies and procedures are followed as needed to resolve concerns.
- Works closely with supervisors and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Evaluates issues, patterns, and trends to provide insights for HR solution and program designs (i.e. training to address certain needs, development opportunities).
Duty/Responsibility
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to supervisors (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development)
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Identifies training needs for business units and individual coaching needs. Develops and/or identifies resources for employee training and development programs.
- Serve as a resource for employee questions and connect them with the resources within HR or other departments on campus.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions to support the organization.

- Coordinates with USNH Benefits on communication plans, outreach, along with wellness plans and supporting new employee orientation.

- Keep PSU Leadership advised of developments and to assist with problem-solving in all areas, while focusing on current or future HRIS systems being utilized.
