Kodiak College is recruiting for adjunct faculty positions within various departments. Adjunct Instructors teach course(s) for the Fall/Spring/Summer semesters. Adjunct positions are on a semester-by-semester basis.

Knowledge of accepted instruction methods. Outstanding ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Strong public speaking and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and administration within a diverse rural campus community.

University, community or technical college teaching experience is preferred. At least two-year's experience is strongly preferred. Experience teaching traditional campus-based courses and distance education (eLearning) in rural communities is strongly preferred.

Kodiak College prefer adjunct instructors live in Alaska, but not required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree/Master's degree (discipline dependent) in a field related to the position, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience depending on the discipline.

Applicants must meet faculty guidelines for the appropriate department at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) to teach for Kodiak College, a community campus of UAA. All asynchronous instructors must have in-house (UAA) or Quality Matters training prior to teaching classes.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Kodiak. This is a part time, adjunct represented temporary position. New hires will be placed on the adjunct salary schedule as outlined in the UNAD CBA.

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.

This is an at-will, union represented adjunct position, and may be canceled based upon the needs of the university.
