The Department of Business Administration (BADM) at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Ranked Faculty for Accounting, nine-month contract position. Preferred start for this faculty would be Spring semester of 2024-2025 academic year, otherwise Fall semester 2025-2026.
St. Catherine University (St. Kate’s) is one of only six US institutions that has a college for women, and there is also a college for adults both of which are minority serving. Based in the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota, St. Kate’s is home to a diverse group of around 3,500 students in varying disciplines and degree levels.
This position will fill the vacancy created by the departure of accounting professor. This position is crucial for meeting the needs of the accounting program and all undergraduate students in the school of business. All majors within the business administration department must complete a business core in compliance with ACBSP accreditation.
This faculty member will ensure our students will receive a comprehensive business education in the critical area of accounting and finance. This faculty member will also ensure our accounting major students will receive the technical accounting skills needed to be given a solid foundation for all accounting careers and those seeking to take the CPA exam.

Responsibilities Include:
- Teach 24 accounting credits (typically, three, four-credit primarily undergraduate accounting courses per semester over two semesters).
- The selected applicant will develop and teach both upper- and lower-level undergraduate accounting courses offered during the day in-person instruction on campus and in an online format.
- Deliver high-quality education in various delivery formats, which include in-person instruction on-campus and online instruction synchronous and asynchronous formats.
- Advise students on their academic degree plans, career plans, and job opportunities.
- Monitor and update the curriculum as needed to ensure it is the most current and compliant with the Accounting discipline.
- Supports diverse student learn styles, backgrounds and experiences.
- Actively participate and provide service to the accounting discipline, department, school, and university-wide committees.
- Support admissions with their work to build enrollment.
- Participate in department ACBSP accreditation work.
- Stay current in the accounting field and engage in professional organizations such as the MNCPA.
- Actively engage in scholarly work related to the accounting discipline.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master of Business Administration or a Master Degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
- Two or more years of teaching excellence at the undergraduate or graduate level, covering a variety of accounting classes.
- Ability to teach on campus throughout the academic year.
- Three or more years of professional experience in accounting.
- Current in the accounting field.
- Demonstrated a commitment to understanding and addressing students’ diverse backgrounds and needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral in accounting or a related field that meets the academically qualified accounting requirements of the ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs).
- Teaching Experience both in-person instruction on campus and in an online format.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in tax accounting or previous experience teaching income tax.
