Staff Assistant, Part Time (Financial Aid)

Job Description:

SUNY Broome's Financial Aid Office is currently seeking candidates for a part-time, temporary position for Staff Assistant who will report to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid/Operations and the Assistant Vice President for Human Resources and Student Finance, providing key support to the Financial Aid Office.  The successful candidate must have strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills, and possess attention to detail and the ability to coordinate multiple projects.  Fluctuating workload and tight time constraints will place high demands for service in this position.

The successful candidate will possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse college faculty, staff, and students.  Candidates comfortable in a learner-centered environment and committed to the community college mission are encouraged to apply.


Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Additional training and education in the applicable administrative field is desirable.

One (1) year of experience working in an educational institution or in a related administrative function desired.

Human Services experience, financial experience, or additional experience with any of the functional responsibilities of the position preferred.


Additional Information:

The hourly rate for this position is $24.38

Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
