Project Lead - DUV Light Generation and Amplification Function

Introduction to the job

The Product Development Group (PDG) in the Cymer Light Source Division of ASML, located in San Diego, performs the Design and Engineering of new and upgraded DUV Source products, and other supporting projects. Within PDG, Light Generation and Amplification (LGA) function designs and engineers core modules of the DUV source, including DUV discharge chambers, power supply modules and blower motor systems. The work is diverse, fast-paced, and innovative. As a Project Lead in LGA function, you are responsible for the organization, structure, project planning, and delivery of functional components in LGA. These activities cover the complete development cycle, including architecture and requirements definition, design, implementation, integration, validation and test, high volume manufacturing and lifecycle support and troubleshooting. Sometimes across multiple concurrent projects, you will coordinate and pro-actively drive the development work of - and operate the project comprising - multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, co-developers and cross-sector stakeholders and participate in reviewing concepts and designs on all above-mentionedcriteria through project completion.

Role and responsibilities
  • Maintains a deliverables plan according to the triple constraints of timing, resources and scope
  • Coordinates the deliverablesfrom projects, teams and individuals, driving performance, availability, cost/budget, and schedule
  • Manages resources in a team of ~10 contributors and take operational responsibility within projects
  • manage, track, and report project budgets
  • Identifies bottlenecks and/or improvement opportunities within the project or team, coordinates with peer stakeholders to mitigate issues, and escalates for needed help when necessary
  • Manages and steers co-developers, aligning them with work breakdown and plan
  • Assesses schedule risk and create mitigation plans
  • Develops and maintains project work breakdown structures and plans (e.g. with MS Project) and presents progress against plans in all required forums.
  • Works closely with cross-functional groups (engineers and scientists, worldwide customer support personnel, manufacturing personnel, upper management, marketing, external customers).Crosses functional boundaries and builds constructive and effective relationships throughout the whole organization.
  • Assures Specifications and Designs are written, reviewed and delivered to proper teams in a timely manner. This includes operational procedures, and training materials.
  • Analyzes and communicates customer needs and reconcile these with design teams, deliverables and management as appropriate.
  • Delivers progress reports and presentations to upper management and internal / external customers as a primary project spokesperson
  • Interacts with all partner teams and other project leads/managers as primary spokesperson on relevant project/program issues.
  • Works within loosely defined parameters to accommodate needs of customer and adjacent organizations. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercises judgment within pre-defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Identifies required changes as flexibility is required. Manage and perform all project "change management" duties as appropriate to meet objectives in a very dynamic environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Role within Office

Responsibilities

  • Work in a fast-paced office environment, including working in a standing or seated position for long periods sometimes exceeding 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Perform office tasks using simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation and reach associated with assigned tasks such as paperwork, computer keyboarding (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), filing, calculating, and use of telephone or other handheld electronic devices, continuously sometimes exceeding 8 hours per day, five days per week.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • May require travel (specify domestic and/or international) dependent on business needs, up to 10%
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Education and experience

Education

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Optics, Controls, or similar, plus experience per below:

  • Bachelors with minimum 6 years of experience
  • Masters with minimum 3 years of experience

Experience

Minimum qualifications - the hired candidate must possess all of the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for the position including:

  • Overseeing multiple concurrent activities is required
  • Experience in negotiating and aligning with multiple stakeholders on complex decisions
  • Strong English communication skills - both written and oral

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in leading a small to medium sized technical teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
  • Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.

Other information

This position is located on-site (hybrid) in San Diego, CA . It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

A flexible workplace arrangement may be available when job duties are conducive to remote work.

    The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

    $131,625-219,375

    Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
