The Internet Technologies QE & Ops team is seeking an experienced and passionate Software Development Engineer in Test to take our existing automation infrastructure to the next level. Our teams design and engineer the communication cornerstones of iOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS for Mail, Messages, FaceTime, and Phone applications. We're looking for critical thinkers to play a key role in qualifying Apple's software releases and ensuring a high-quality customer experience. We need someone comfortable working in an environment with rapidly changing priorities and someone creative and inspired to invent new ways to help build better products.
Description
As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will implement a mix of functional, performance, reliability, and end-to-end automated tests to support Mail, Messages, FaceTime, and Phone applications. During the design process, you will work with different engineering teams to create robust and valuable tests. Code reviews and design discussions are vital expectations of this process. Additionally, you will develop innovative tools to boost our testing efficiency, debug failures, and make it easy to communicate results with high-level reports. You will need to be highly technical, organized, creative, motivated, and passionate about achieving results.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience developing software, tools, and automation
- Proficiency in functional or object-oriented languages like Python, Java, or Swift
- Ability to define, design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks
- Experience in integrated, end to end systems and testing methodologies.
- Experience in testing and automating APIs, UIs, and Native Applications Experience in the software development lifecycle, test methodologies, and tools
- Highly organized, creative, motivated, and passionate about achieving results
- Proficient in refactoring, test automation, emergent design, testable and modular code, and build infrastructure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, and other organizations within Apple.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Swift, C/C++, or Objective-C is a plus
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
