Job Description
The Support Professional serves as the receptionist for GRCC's busy dental hygiene clinic, requiring a high degree of professionalism and ability to work effectively with the general public, students, faculty and staff.

Schedule: Part Time, 15 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, nonexempt
Monday, Wednesday, 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM; some Friday hours preferred; other hours to be determined with supervisor. Must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
Compensation: $17.59 / hour
Benefits: Part-time

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greeting and checking patients in as they arrive for their appointments.
- Answering telephone calls from the public and editing or creating appointments as requested
- Scheduling and confirming clinic patients for upcoming appointments
- Collecting fees, and preparing accurate deposits to ensure successful operation of the clinic
- Working with dental hygiene students as they assist in the dental office
- Maintaining the office, supply room, and reception area, and securing all locked areas at the end of the shift
- Contribute to a positive and professional work environment, by presenting a positive and professional image
- Project a professional image including punctuality, dependability and maintain a good attendance record.
- Primary responsible for smooth flow of office operations from start to finish
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to remain focused on tasks in a busy office environment
- Willingness and ability to learn college-wide systems such as; Gmail, Google docs, and timesheets, and dental office software programs
- Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education Credentials
- Associate's degree or comparable combination of relevant education and experience
Work Experience
- One year of office experience preferred
- Experience communicating and working effectively with a diverse population preferred
- Dental office/dental software experience preferred
- Demonstrated computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office required
Skills
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality (develop an understanding of FERPA and HIPAA laws and requirements)
- Ability to communicate with the general public by phone, in person, electronically and through written correspondence
- Ability to communicate and work harmoniously with all members of the department and campus
- Ability to perform responsibilities with minimum supervision. Must have excellent proofreading skills and an aptitude for detailed work.
- Must have good verbal, written and customer service skills
- Bilingual skills preferred
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to sit/rise repeatedly
Mental Demands
- Ability to handle pressure situations in a professional manner
- Possess mature judgment
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in a high traffic, indoor environment
- Ability to work in a busy office with frequent interruptions
