Job Summary
The Department of Accounting in the College of Business, the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for three positions as Assistant Professor of Practice in Business Law/Accounting. The undergraduate course on the legal environment of business covers an overview of the judicial system, contracts, property, agency, torts, employment law and related topics. Other specialty courses such as Business Law for Accountants, Law of International Business, Real Estate Law, Tax Law, etc. are taught at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The position responsibilities will include:
a) Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; participating in curriculum and course development and have a commitment to student success.
b) Customary service commitments to the department, college, university, community and/or profession; and
c) Maintaining appropriate AACSB faculty qualification criteria as defined by the Department.
Required Qualifications
1. Possess a JD or equivalent at the time of joining the faculty.
2. Professional work experience in legal areas related to business of at least 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications in Accounting (such as CPA) or a Master’s degree in Accounting and/or taxation are a definite advantage.

Department Information
The Department of Accounting is a part of the College of Business. The department has several graduate and undergraduate programs and is focused on preparing students for the CPA exam and other professional careers in accounting. The department serves about 700 students and graduates nearly 200 students a year.
