SENIOR LECTURER - Business Ethics/Business Law
Job Description
This is a full-time, nine-month, faculty position responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the chair.
Essential Job Functions
1. Performs an equivalent of thirty teaching load credits (TLC) for the combined fall and spring semesters; reduction of teaching load through reassignment of duties is possible under certain circumstances.
2. May conduct supplemental instructional activities such as independent studies, internships, and advising.

Physical Demands Required Education
Terminal degree in the field in which the individual will be teaching is required. ABD candidates may be considered if Ph.D. is earned prior to start date.
Required Experience and Training
Practical experience sufficient to teach at a university level, through teaching or profession, is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at a university level is preferred.

Other Specifications
The primary teaching areas for this position are business ethics and business law. We are seeking candidates who can deliver high-quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students.
Terminal degree in the field in which the individual will be teaching is required. Candidates with a J.D., Ph.D., or Ed.D. will be considered.
The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate and applied work experience in ethics and/or compliance. The ideal candidate will also have:
- ability to teach on-campus, in-person, and online;
- ability to engage in research/scholarly/professional activities;
- ability and desire to teach writing-intensive classes;
- ability and desire to perform other service/academic duties as assigned; and
- professional business experience.
Depending on experience, candidate may be asked to teach courses in a variety of business areas including business communication, oral communication, leadership development, and general business. The standard teaching load for faculty in the College of Business is 24 teaching load credits for the combined fall and spring semesters.
The Rusche College of Business is AACSB-accredited and candidate will be required to meet faculty sufficiency requirements and to engage in research/scholarly/professional activities to maintain faculty sufficiency as defined by the College of Business Faculty Sufficiency Policy and its accrediting body (AACSB).

This position is eligible for participation in the Optional Retirement Program (ORP), subject to the position being full-time and at least 4 ½ months in length, or the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) retirement plan, subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
