We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Human Resources Representative in the Human Resources Department.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
This position reports to the Human Resources Manager and performs Human Resources (HR) duties in the areas of employee relations, training, performance management, on/off-boarding, policy implementation, data management, employment law compliance, and benefits and leave administration. This role is one of the first points of contact for incoming inquiries, issues, and requests from employees and managers. You would collaborate with HR and organizational leadership in the administration of performance management, including performance evaluation cycles, and providing coaching to leadership. You would navigate and assist in the resolution of employee relations matters from initiation to resolution and maintain thorough documentation.

- Will take initiative and use critical thinking as they navigate and assist in the resolution of complex employee relations matters
- Uses good judgment, tact and diplomacy when interacting with a wide variety of stakeholders, especially when managing complex leaves of absence
- Has ownership of their work and actively prioritizes tasks with competing deadlines, keeping the greater picture of our work in mind
- Supports employee engagement initiatives and processes through on and off-boarding activities, data management and analysis
- Shifts quickly between areas of work while keeping the team up to date on what they are working on

- Knowledge of:
- Applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, and ability to interpret and explain
- HR concepts, employee relations, compensation administration, training and other areas of HR and an understanding of how work may affect other functional areas
- HR programs, services, policies, and practices and/or where to obtain information
- Ability to:
- Produce work that demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in a timely way
- Research, correctly interpret, summarize, and present complex information from a wide variety of sources, including policies and regulations to various stakeholders
- Analyze information and apply critical thinking skills considering potential risk or precedence and develop innovative, effective recommendations or solutions
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Administration or a related field
- Three years (or an Associate's degree and five years) of directly related human resources experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be qualifying
OTHER INFORMATION
- This position is connected to our Santa Cruz office and this role is expected to go onsite occasionally, at least once a month.
- We are in a hybrid work environment and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
- While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
The full compensation range for this position is listed by location below.
The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).
OUR BENEFITS
Available for all regular Alliance employees working more than 30 hours per week. Some benefits are available on a pro-rated basis for part-time employees. These benefits are unavailable to temporary employees while on an assignment with the Alliance.
