The Sperm Bank of California is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to providing ethical and inclusive family building options since 1982. We are known for predominantly serving LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities, and single parents by choice.
As a member of the Programs Team, the Reproductive Health Specialist works closely with the rest of the programs staff to support our intended parents, families, storage clients and sperm donors. Key duties include customer service, health & fertility education, sales, interviewing sperm donors, and administrative duties.
Theideal candidate has (1) experience/interest in reproductive health care, fertility services, and/or services for the trans* community, (2) strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex information, (3) experience with detailed data collection and accurate data entry. Empathy and patience are essential.
Qualifications: A college degree and related work experience (2+ years). Additional related work experience may substitute for a completed degree. Previous counseling or case management (non-licensed) experience is helpful. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, accuracy with details, and problem solving skills are essential. Experience working in a busy clinic or medical office or other fast-paced industry where customer service is critical (such as the restaurant industry or sales) is a plus. Spanish language skills are welcomed but not required.
All work is onsite at our office located in downtown Berkeley.

Physical Requirements:
- use a computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal, and telephone for extended periods of time over an 8 hour workday
- sit up to 8 hours per day with intermittent walking, standing, and bending
- lift and carry equipment and parcels weighing up to 25 pounds
- complete tasks in an environment where interruptions are the norm and background noise is present
- working with liquid nitrogen (hazardous materials handling training will be provided)

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
