Job Responsibilities
- Patrol all FHCSD sites to ensure safety and security standards are being met or exceeded.
- Conduct comprehensive patrols that include site exterior and interior with check-ins with site leadership and/or management.
- Mitigate or prevent any potential HIPAA breaches through vigilance when conducting patrols, and provide report findings to site leadership, and security management.
- Via surveillance camera systems and/or smart devices, detect any potential security or safety issues and address appropriately.
- Ensure any possible security issues are addressed, rectified, and reported.
- Mitigate behavior of aggressive and/or verbally overt patients or visitors through de-escalation techniques and approaches to ensure safety of all. May involve request for backup officer or contact appropriate emergency response team.
- May provide arrest and control when circumstances dictate to ensure security and safety standards are met.
- Monitor and assist with major events related to traffic control, direction and safety for attendees and employees.
- Participate in mandatory organizational drills and exercises.
- Responsible for directing staff, patients, visitors, and vendors to safety in the event of an emergency ( i.e., fire, earthquake, bomb threat, etc.).
- Respond immediately to emergency calls and clears way for emergency vehicles and personnel, direct them to the emergency scene and provide incident detail.
- Monitor and patrol all parking across FHCSD sites.
- Administratively support security entrance and assignment to appropriate FHCSD site for employees, vendors, and contractors.
- Manage multiple security software (i.e., Access Control, Camera Systems, Fire Systems, Alarm Systems, Data Reporting, and Two-Way Radio).
- Maintain and test emergency devices in a set monthly schedule.
- Respond to after hour emergency calls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations
- Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in the security field, security patrol officer, security guard, military MP, law enforcement or security safety officer in a related field required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge and ability to perform the essential job duties, and which meets any required state or federal certification requirements.
- Requires an active California driver's license for the class required for operation of assigned vehicle; DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Age 21; Licensed for a minimum of 3 years; No violations and/or accidents within 3 years; No vehicle related suspensions/reinstatements; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving with 7 years.
- Must have a reliable vehicle; drives own vehicle on a daily basis around San Diego county.
- Must successfully be enrolled in the DMV pull program and meet organizational driving requirements prior to start date.
Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)
- Ability to use sound judgment and maintain a professional manner in emergencies, while possessing the capability of quick and responsible decision making related to the course of action necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
- Knowledge of security software.
- Basic computer literacy ability to comply with department needs and expectations; ability to use email, smart phones, and computers on a daily basis.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
- Intermediate interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Possess good communication skills with the ability to relate to staff, patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

18.00 - 24.00If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
