Housing Facilities is seeking to fill several positions to serve as temporary Painters to join the Painting crew.
Housing Facilities is seeking to fill several positions to serve as temporary Painters to join the Painting crew.
The Painters will prepare surfaces to be painted using sandpaper, and scrapers and will apply a primer coat; match and mix paints, shellacs, varnishes, enamels, stains and other protective coatings and apply these finishes to various surfaces; prepare and apply patching materials as
needed; erect ladders or scaffolding for use in work; and perform other duties as required.
Employees must follow manufacturer’s recommendations and instructions when matching, mixing, and applying paints and other solutions and must adhere to all University, State, and Federal safety regulations.

- Ability to use power tools specific to paint work
- Ability to use paint brush and paint roller
- Employees must be able to work from extreme heights and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Experience as a painter is a plus, but not required.
- Any experience in the preparation of painted surfaces and the application of finishes is helpful
