General:

The M.C. Dean, Inc.Maritime Divisionworks at shipyards around the world from our regional offices in Chesapeake, VA, and San Diego, CA. Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

    Experience:
  • 5,000 hours of professional scheduling within the past nine (9) years
  • Alternatively, 3,500 hours with a Project Management Professional (PMP Certification)

    Abilities:
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of project lifecycle
  • Stakeholder impact analysis
  • Change management control
  • scheduling terminology
  • Project management software
  • Schedule documentation and reporting techniques
  • Scheduling data management information systems
  • Scheduling techniques to include resource leveling, schedule compression, simulations, Gant Charts
  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis, performance index, baseline execution index, float analysis
  • Contract schedule requirements

    Physical Requirements and Safety Certifications:
  • Occupation Safety Haz-Mat
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

    Security and Work Locations:
  • Work is primarily in San Diego, CA and Norfolk, VA but you may travel for extended periods to other shipyards in the USA and to other Navy ports outside the USA
  • You will work at government facilities. You must be a US Citizenship eligible for clearance.
  • You must pass a background investigation
  • Valid driver's license

Abilities:

  1. Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time
  2. Sitting for extended periods of time.
  3. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  4. Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
  5. Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  6. Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  7. Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  8. Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  9. Identifyand understand the speech of another person.
