Job Description

The Senior Facility Technician maintains and repairs assigned manufacturing related equipment throughout the facility in accordance with standard procedures, internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications, and safety policies. Performs complex skilled work across multiple-functions and operations of the preventive maintenance system.

Job Core Responsibilities

1. Ensures the effective and efficient function of facilities through ongoing inspection and maintenance
  • Daily walk-throughs occur at the beginning of the shift and post.
  • Touching base with key stakeholders at each department.
  • Log all work daily work orders and communicate to Facilities Manager (FM) with recommendations/strategies for improvement.
2. Monitors and maintains a variety of complex utilities and process equipment
  • Log all PM paperwork, collect authorized signatures, and file via hard and soft copies.
  • Equipment not limited to projects, i.e., Aero-derivative/Small Frame, manufacturing (OEM/MRO), infrastructure, i.e., ceiling tiles, demo/build, data/phone lines, addressing safety action items.
  • Establish milestone completion dates with coordination of FM
3. Inspects, repairs, service, and maintains existing electromechanical and electrical systems, including conduit runs, lights and power circuits, motors, control equipment, light fixtures, and panels
  • Conduct walks to inspect the above.
  • Identify hazards and develop action plan per repair and collaborate with FM.
  • Label and validate all circuit breakers and panels. Determine preventative maintenance and shutdown per simulation and be pro-active per troubleshooting before onsite issues arise. Knowledge of 220v-480v, 3-phase equipment
4. Understands and follows documents in the performance of work, such as safety rules, work instructions, procedures, manuals, blueprints, electrical schematics, and assembly drawings
  • Follow manufacture directions per maintenance and repair.
  • Follow safety instructions and practice at all times.
  • Maintain facility warehouse in order and free of obstruction/potential risk hazards. Keep clean and organizes
  • Establish min/max levels. Follow and abide by OEM repair instructions. If no instructions available, collaborate with manufacturer supervisor/manager, operator, and engineer – create, share with FM, and file. File all architecture drawings in a shared folder. Review daily Work Order & Safety submissions
5. Maintains necessary records/documents of all work performed
  • Maintain preventative maintenance records and available when requested.
  • Signed off by department leads/supervisor/manager and FM.
  • Upload soft copies into a shared folder. Log all vendor PM’s. Waste removal records
6. Understands and references Material Safety Data Sheet, following all safety policy and procedures for handling hazardous materials
  • Keep hazardous material clear from within the site.
  • No hazardous material on the floor; keep clear daily.
  • Coordinate in a timely manner with a hazardous waste pick-up. Keep hazardous cage, area clean, clear, and organized.
  • Keep appropriate barrels inside the cage and labeled. Do not leave open areas, such as within the perimeter fence line.
  • Execute all safety items flagged by FM in a timely manner.
  • Follow-up and closeout once complete with FM
7. Provides support to the Facilities Function as needed
  • Support all functions to site, including but not limited to projects, manufacturing, safety items, infrastructure, etc.
  • Develop plans, parts, pricing, lead time to repairs/replacements/PM’s and coordinate with FM for approval and feedback.
  • With the direction of FM, collaborate with other functional teams to execute requests and schedule appropriately.
  • Communicate with FM on items worked on outside of scope or assigned tasks
  • Support manufacturing with solvent replenishing and removal.

Job Specifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Secondary Certificate or AG; or the equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
  • Vocational training, apprenticeships, or the equivalent experience in a related field
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial systems; electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, hazard waste, compressed air, and compressed gas
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to read and interpret documents, schematics, and blueprints
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams and adapt to changing work requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary.
