Summary
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern NH is seeking a qualified candidate, to fill the role of a full-time Human Resources Generalist. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is a dynamic organization that currently supports 200 staff working in 30 Early Childhood and Out of School Time programs with a large geographic footprint.
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing many human resources-related duties on a professional level. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, employee and volunteer recruitment and onboarding, policy enforcement and implementation, and employment law, BGCA, and NH Child Care Licensing compliance. This role carries out administrative work within human resources functions and maintains accurate records.

Duties
- Must have an understanding of labor laws. Seeks continuous professional development opportunities to keep up with the latest HR trends and best practices.
- Supports Human Resources Assistant with new hire paperwork. Coordinates communication with candidates and schedules new hire meetings when needed.
- Responsible for explaining the ADP process, benefits offered, NH Connections, Employee Navigator, etc. Responsible for policy review.
- Oversees accurate completion of compensation and benefit documentation. Monitors employee eligibility for benefit plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes through the Employee Navigator.
- Serves as point person for employee inquiries. Assists employees with human resources-related questions. If unable to respond, directs questions to the Human Resources Director or another appropriate party.
- Maintains different HR and organizational systems, including but not limited to; payroll system, MTS, Employee Navigator, and different spreadsheets by updating and maintaining accurate data.
- Serves in the role of a Volunteer Coordinator; conducts volunteer orientations and introduces volunteers to Boys & Girls Clubs of Central NH policies and practices. Ensures that all of the required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, temporary employees, and volunteers through advertisements, job fairs, and other recruitment efforts. May be asked to conduct new hire orientations.
- Identifies and brings up opportunities to improve policies, procedures, and programs to ensure they meet the Club?s needs. Assists the HR Director in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures as applicable.
- Performs file audits to ensure that all required employee and volunteer documentation is collected, accurate, and maintained. Runs reports from ADP, Employee Navigator, FirstAdvantage, etc. as applicable to perform audits.
- Maintains accurate paper and electronic records of employee files. Maintains accurate paper records of volunteer, board member, and student files.
- Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.
- Tracks completion of employee and volunteer trainings, and document acknowledgments in ADP, and communicates with management if items are incomplete.
- Responsible for employee terminations which includes, but it is not limited to terminations in the Employee Navigator (COBRA benefit administration), ADP, MTS, and 403B management tracking system.
- Assists with processing leaves of absence and ensures compliance with the Family Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA). Notifies employees of their rights and obligations under FMLA; maintains accurate record-keeping for FMLA.
- Reports, maintains, and monitors workers' compensation case files; follows up on open cases. Ensures that all claims are filed within 72 hours.
- Completes unemployment requests and other employment verification's in a timely manner as applicable.
- Ensures a healthy and safe environment in compliance with all OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Demonstrates commitment to safety.
- Maintains all DOT driver files. Ensures that the Club?s bus drivers are tested in accordance with DOT regulations for drug and alcohol use. Maintains and monitors DOT medical cards and sends renewal reminders to employees.
- Communicates with the insurance company related to new and or updated driver motor vehicle records for employees. Also communicates when employees need to be removed from the policy.
- Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
- Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as required.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Assists with the transition and implementation of organizational systems as needed.
- Answers telephone, makes copies, scans, files, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
- Must have at least one year of experience in Human Resources Management and possess data management skills.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting Human Resources management.
- Scrupulous attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and verbal, to communicate with employees, members of the management team, executive board, community members, and in group presentations and meetings.
- Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be flexible.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be willing to travel between locations when requested. (Only occasional travel may be required.)
- Must be dependable, able to accurately follow instructions, respond to management direction, and reflect and improve performance through feedback.
