As the Marketing & Communications Director, you are a dedicated individual with strict attention to detail and meeting deadlines. You are responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing and public relations plan that effectively drives the performance of the organization. In addition, you will provide training and guidance to staff regarding brand integrity, public relations, marketing, and special events, as well as overseeing all digital and printed materials, ensuring consistency and professionalism in all communications.

Some additional duties for the Marketing & Communications Director include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide strategic communications counsel and support to YMCA leadership.
  • Provide training and support to YMCA staff regarding Y brand, community impact, optimization of messaging.
  • Manage supporting marketing staff and any contracted marketing vendors.
  • Review and revamp internal communications manuals, processes, messaging in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Track, analyze, measure, and report the effectiveness of communication channels, assets, and messaging for various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage an annual budget for maximum impact and liaise with relevant external agencies, media, and community partners.
  • Represent the Y at community and Y events throughout the year.
  • Be the lead point person on media interactions that promote the Y brand.
  • Create, manage, and distribute a communications and marketing calendar to keep staff informed of upcoming events, promotions, campaigns etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital marketing, media relations, or in a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years in Marketing or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute a communications strategy and marketing plan including the conceptualization, development, management, and production of print, digital, email, web, and social media marketing content and other materials.
  • Experience with evaluating and upgrading communications platforms, website, and mobile applications to enhance the member experience.
  • Experience with data analytics, surveys, and market research to identify and address member needs across traditional and digital platforms.
  • Strong writing and editing ability, with demonstrated experience in writing press releases, editorials, talking points, program-specific copy, messaging the organization’s impact, and annual reports.
  • Self-directed, motivated, confident leader able to effectively manage multiple projects at once in an energizing, fast-paced environment.
  • Cross-functional collaborator with demonstrated ability to build relationships and engage with a diverse set of internal stakeholders, community leaders, and organizations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
