Job Description

 

The Director of Human Resources, under the supervision of the Campus Director serves as a key member of the Center's administration staff. This is a full-time, exempt position responsible for employee cycle management, benefits management, general management, and employee safety and company risk management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Compile, edit, and maintain job descriptions for each department
  • Establish, maintain and close out recruitment files.
  • Screen and evaluate potential employees
  • Process and complete all new hire paperwork and new employee onboarding.
  • Keep accurate, secure and compliant employee files.
  • Provide support for employee issues and concerns to directors, addressing complaints and facilitating problem resolution. Handle employee relations issues in accordance with state and federal regulations, legal guidelines and SAAJCC policy.
  • Maintain pro-employee approach to ensure positive employee relations.
  • Assist with the identification of training needs, certification requirements, and the development of training programs for staff and managers.
  • Develop compliant, progressive, and proactive programs to provide motivation, incentive and rewards for effective performance and/or achieving desired goals.
  • Conduct investigations and provide written communications to employees as necessary
  • Manage annual review cycle, handling discipline issues and terminations.
  • Manage the annual cycle of benefits selection -- analyze compensation and benefits policies, seek cost effective alternatives, meet and liaise with benefits providers, review and recommend to the Director of Finance and Campus Director
  • Be the point person for all enrollments, modifications, terminations, etc for employee health insurance, 401k, life insurance, disability insurance, and worker's compensation
  • Provide guidance on HR operational issues to senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resource Management or similar field required. Course work or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Risk Management, Insurance, Accounting and Business Administration strongly preferred.
  • Five years or more of progressively responsible experience in human resources, at least two years of which must be managerial or supervisory role.
  • Non Profit agency experience strongly preferred; experience with daycare, day camp, fitness or aquatics also preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Workers' Compensation statutes and other Federal and State laws related to personal injury, prope1ty damage, vehicle accidents and other risks
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year

  • Monday to Friday
