Overview:
WMU Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine is recruiting for a Human Resources Generalist, with a focus on staff recruitment. In this role the ideal candidate will provide impactful Human Resources partnership with the focus on staff recruitment, sourcing, and building a strong recruitment network on social media and other recruitment platforms. Partner with hiring managers as a talent advisor in screening candidates and facilitating the recruitment process from start to end.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the staff recruitment utilizing proactive recruitment strategies.
- Develops and maintains inclusive and equitable recruitment language, processes, and procedures in accordance with WMed policies pertaining to job descriptions, promotional material and other required materials or language.
- Develop proactive and innovative attraction and sourcing techniques.
- Stay up to date on industry benchmarking, legal developments, emerging recruitment trends, and DEI recruitment best practices.
- Responsible for building and posting staff positions and announcements.
- Acts as lead for administrative functions surrounding staff recruitment.
- Assists with developing and implementing strategic recruitment initiatives focusing on DEI, belonging, and culture.
- Maintenance of open positions spreadsheets.
- Responsible for staff position advertising utilizing advertising agencies.
- Maintains record of staff interview feedback.
- Assists with maintaining and updating current employee files.
- Ensures staff new hire actions are followed through to end of process.
- Enters staff new hire actions into HRIS.
- Serves as back-up for status changes and termination processes.
- Conducts regular follow up meetings with hiring supervisors to ensure timeliness of recruitment process.
- Tracks and reports key metrics designed to measure and predict staffing activity.
- Works closely with Talent Acquisition team members regarding the sourcing, interview and selection process.
- Acquires knowledge for new technology and policy/procedure revisions.
- Availability to work occasional overtime on weekends or evenings to complete time sensitive projects.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum three years’ previous experience with recruiting and administration required.
- Knowledge and proficiency in word processing and file management using Word.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in grammar and spelling skills.
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with others verbally and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas, and to summarize complex issues.
- Broad knowledge of human resources functions including, but not limited to, labor law compliance, employee relations preferred.
- Experience with iCIMS preferred.
- Robust knowledge of federal, state and local regulations pertaining to employment.
- Well-developed knowledge of human resources functions including HR and DEI recruitment metrics and analytics.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Excel, iCIMS, Berke Assessment and other software as required by the department.
- Adept knowledge of organizational operations and policy.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Must be proactive, innovative, and a quick learner.
- Strong teamwork and collaborative skills along with a strong customer focus.
- Ability to operate automated standard office equipment such as phone system, copier, fax machine, shredder, etc.
- High degree of integrity to maintain absolute confidentiality in all matters related to Human Resources.
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
- Ability to interpret, comprehend, and transmit complicated and detailed instructions accurately.
- Demonstrates the ability to recognize priorities in organization of workflow.
- Able to perform duties independently, with a minimal need for direct supervision.
